Use Practice Word Cards to teach How to Write English Phrases

Teaching "How to Write English Phrases" can be easy. I use the Sentence Master practice word cards to
make the teaching easier, simpler and more focused.

The word cards are small and simple - students are not afraid of them. If I am teaching three word phrases
it is easy to give the students an article, preposition and noun word card. Using only the three cards will
focus the students attention. This reduces the opportunity to be distracted into other topics.

It is easy to teach any needed vocabulary needed for context. there are only 13 words.

When you discuss the functions and task performed by each word in the different phrases combinations
- the students will remember the word - and the task performed in the different phrases.

The word cards become memory aids.

The students learn that many words perform different tasks - depending on the context. When demonstrated
in smaller easy to repeat variations the students learn the necessary language flexibility without
being intimidated.

You can teach every type of English language word phrase using the Sentence Master practice word cards.
You can create thousands of English phrases with your own set of practice word cards.

Use Practice Word Cards to teach
"Advanced Writing Compound Complex & Compound-Complex sentences"

I like to get my clause-teaching materials prepared in advance of the class. I try to use topics from
magazines or texts that are appropriate for the age and interest of the class. I like to cut out
entire clauses. These clauses can be from four words to 12 words. The clauses can be dependant
or independant clauses.

I also bring in the Sentence Master practice conjunction cards.

We discuss with the class all the different clauses. What they are - what they mean - what they do.

Then I bring in the Sentence Master practice conjunction cards.

We discuss what function the conjunction performs and the available context.

Then we try to join the set clauses into compound or complex or compound-complex sentences.

You will have to discover and print your own set of clauses for teaching - however - with the conjunction
cards - you can create thousands of examples of how to create coumpound or complex or
compound-complex sentences.
